Sour Cherries!
We're open today with sour cherries. I get to hear what people are planning to do. Like Gert is making Kippered Cherries. (I had to ask what that was) She says she pits the cherries and covers them with vinegar overnight then processes them with a sugar syrup and people love it.
A couple customers are making pies and jam and one person is going to try a recipe for Marashino cherries.

Good Weekend for Berries
Well, the change in the weather has encouraged the fields of berries. We'll be having pick your own saturday and sunday. We're hoping some of our mid season varieties will come along.
Of course our Late Glo's are starting to be ready so it won't be a long season, but so far everything tastes good!

Strawberry Woes...
Well, the pick your own fields are looking pretty slim.
Those super hot days seemed to cook the fruit, what small quantities we had.
There are a few rows of late field berries that we hope will sustain the market.
